Thomas Sewall was born on 5 March 1692/93 in Newbury, Massachusetts.2,3 He was the son of John Sewall and Hannah Fessenden.1 Thomas Sewall died on 14 July 1716 at the age of 23 whilst a student at Harvard at his uncle Nicholas Fessenden's Cambridge home.3 He was buried on 18 July 1716? There is in the burying ground at Cambridge near Harvard College [Harvard Square] a stone thus inscribed: "Here lies buried the Body of Thomas Sewell, an undergraduate of H.C. A young man of good judgement, of singular modesty and integrity, eminent for his sobriety and piety, and also for his zeal for the glory of God and the Salvation of Man. He died the 14 July 1716 in the 22nd year of his age."1

Govenor Thomas Dudley was baptised on 12 October 1576 at Yardley Hastings, Northamptonshire. He was the son of Captain Roger Dudley and Susanna Thorne.2 He was carefully educated by a kinswoman and also attended a Latin school. About 1597 he led a company of volunteers into France to aid Henry of Navarre, but was not called upon to render active service. Returning to England he studied law under Judge Augustine Nicolls of Faxton, a kinsman on his mother's side. In 1630 he emmigrated to New England (he and his family are listed in the Winthrop fleet), having been appointed deputy-governor of Massachusetts. He was appointed governor in 1634 and again in 1640, 1645 and 1650. When not serving as governor he was generally deputy-governor or assistant, holding the former office thirteen and the latter five years. In March, 1644, he was appointed sergeant major-general of the colony, and served as such for four years. In 1639 he purchased land in Roxbury and there resided until his death.2 Govenor Thomas Dudley married firstly Dorothy Yorke, daughter of Edmund Yorke, on 25 April 1603 in Hardingstone, Northampton. Govenor Thomas Dudley married Catherine Deighton on 14 April 1644.2,3,4 Govenor Thomas Dudley made a will on 26 April 1652 at Roxbury.5 He died on 31 July 1653 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, at the age of 76 and is buried in the Eustis Street Burying-ground.6,2

Governor Simon Bradstreet was born in February 1604 or March 1604 in Horbling, Lincolnshire.3,4 He was the son of Rev. Simon Bradstreet and Margaret (Unknown).1,2 Governor Simon Bradstreet was baptised on 18 March 1603/4 at Horbling, Lincolnshire.2,5 He married firstly Ann Dudley, daughter of Govenor Thomas Dudley and Dorothy Yorke, before 1630 at England.5 He matriculated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, but did not finish his course, perhaps on account of his father's death. He came to America in 1630 with Governor Winthrop in the Arabella. He was one of the founders of Newtown, now Cambridge. For a while he resided probably at Salem, certainly, at Ipswich, removing in 1648 to Andover, where he was one of the first settlers and the leading citizen. Among his important offices and functions were these: secretary of colony, from 1630-34; one of the commissioners of the united colonies, in 1643.
In 1653 he successfully opposed a projected war on the Dutch and Indians. He was a commissioner with regard to the boundary between New Amsterdam and New Haven in 1650, and the next year a commissioner concerning the jurisdiction of Massachusetts over York and Kittery, Maine. About 1662 he went to England to answer charges against the colony. He was deputy governor 1673-79; he was assistant fifty years together. From 1679 he was governor of the colony until the dissolution of the charter in May, 1686. Although then almost ninety years old, he was active in resisting. Andros; and when Andros was imprisoned he took charge of the government. The old charter was restored and he was governor of Massachusetts and New Hampshire until May, 1692.6 Governor Simon Bradstreet married secondly Anne Downing, daughter of Emanuel Downing and Lucy Winthrop, on 6 June 1676 probably in Salem, Massachusetts.7,2 Governor Simon Bradstreet died on 27 March 1697 in Salem, Massachusetts, The General Court, in consideration of his long and extraordinary public service, voted £100 toward defraying the expenses of his interment. He was buried in the Charter burying ground at Salem.1,2

Capt. Moses Sewall was born on 22 July 1733 in York, Maine.3 He was the son of Capt. Samuel Sewall and Sarah Batchelder.2 Capt. Moses Sewall married Miriam Stone, daughter of Lt. Benjamin Stone, on 17 March 1757 in York, Maine, the service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Isaac Lyman.4 Capt. Moses Sewall enlisted in 1775 and was commissioned captain, 15 June 1776. He was in the Battle of Bunker Hill; spent the winter of 1775-76 in camp at Boston and served under General Washington at Harlem and White Plains.5 He died in June 1816 in York, Maine, at the age of 82 (3 August 1830 - Sinnett).1,6
