     Philip Barton Key Jr. was born on 2 September 1804 in "Woodley", Georgetown, District of Columbia.2,3 He married firstly Mary Brent Sewall, daughter of Dr. Robert Sewall and Mary (Polly) Brent, on 1 December 1828.4 Philip Barton Key Jr. married secondly Maria Laura Sewall, daughter of Nicholas Sewall and Mary Fenwick, on 25 April 1833 in the residence of Henry Sewall, Cedar Point, St. Mary's County, Maryland, the service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Carbery.5,6 Philip Barton Key Jr. died on 4 May 1854 in "Acadie", Thibodeaux, Louisiana, at the age of 49.2,3
