     Major Trevor Humphreys. Of the 1st Regiment or the Royal Regiment of Foot.3 He was born on 29 July 1814 in Bramhall, Cheshire. He was the son of Rear Admiral Sir Salusbury Pryce Humphreys C.B., K.C.H. and Maria Davenport.4 He entered military service as a Ensign 8 June 1830; Lieutenant 22 March 1833 and Captain 10 March 1837. Retired 11 November 1851. Adjutant of the Cheshire Militia. The 1861 Census lists him as a major in the 2nd Regiment Cheshire Militia.5,3
Major Trevor Humphreys married Frances Georgiana Sewell, daughter of Chief Justice Jonathan/3 Sewell and Henrietta Smith, on 1 July 1837 in Chapel of the Holy Trinity, Québec, Canada, the service was conducted by the Rev. H.D. Sewell.6 His name changed to Trevor Davenport being the date his father changed his name. He had married the previous year under the name Humphreys. On the night of 7 April 1861 Major Trevor Humphreys and Frances Georgiana Sewell were listed in the 1861 Census at Broomhall Hall, Macclesfield, Cheshire.7 Major Trevor Humphreys died on 31 August 1868 at West View, Douglas, Isle of Man, at the age of 54.8
