     Kate Manchini was born on 15 April 1831 in New York, New York.¹ She married Robert Van Rensselaer Schuyler, son of John Arent Schuyler and Catherine Van Rensselaer, on 9 September 1851.¹ Kate Manchini married secondly John Arent Schuyler, son of Arent Henry Schuyler and Mary Caroline Kingsland, on 14 January 1863 in Jersey City, New Jersey.¹ Kate Manchini died in 1892.²

     Abby Sewall Manley was born on 25 July 1848.² She was the daughter of James Sullivan Manley and Caroline Gill Sewall.² Abby Sewall Manley was living in 71 Chapel Street, Augusta, New York, apparently supplied Sinnett with much of the family history.²

     Harriet Manley was born on 17 December 1872 in Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Homan Manley and Susan Hannah Cony.¹ Harriet Manley married George V.S. Michaelis on 17 December 1905.¹ Harriet Manley died on 1 January 1911 in at home, Garden City, Long Island, New York, at the age of 38.¹

     James Sewall Manley. Served in the US Navy.² He was born on 15 April 1854.¹ He was the son of James Sullivan Manley and Caroline Gill Sewall.¹ James Sewall Manley married Nellie Sellick on 1 July 1882 in San Francisco, California.¹ James Sewall Manley died on 28 January 1908 in San Francisco, California, at the age of 53.¹

     James Sullivan Manley was born on 17 July 1816 in Putney, Vermont.² He was the son of Amasa Manley and Lydia French.³ James Sullivan Manley married Caroline Gill Sewall, daughter of Charles Sewall and Sophia Gill, on 27 November 1839.¹ He lived first in Norridgewock, Maine, and then moved to Augusta. He published the Gospel Banner and the Maine Farmer in Augusta.³ James Sullivan Manley died on 9 December 1861 in Augusta at the age of 45.³

     Joseph Homan Manley was born on 13 October 1842 in Bangor, Maine.^2,1 He was the son of James Sullivan Manley and Caroline Gill Sewall.² He attended to public schools of Augusta and Abbott's Little Blue School in Farmington, where he fitted for college. His health, which had interfered with his early opportunities, forced the abandonment of a college education. He began the study of law in the Boston office of Sweetsir & Gardiner, and in September, 1863, graduated from Albany Law School. He formed a law partnership in Augusta with H. W. True, and in 1865 was admitted to practice in the United States and district courts, and was appointed a commissioner of the latter court. From 1869 to 1876 he was special agent of the internal revenue department. After this he was in Washington as agent of the Pennsylvania railroad. In 1878 he purchased a half interest in the Maine Farmer. In May, 1881, he was appointed postmaster of Augusta. During the first term in this office he instituted many improvements in the postal service and was untiring in his efforts to secure the fine post office building which now adorns the capital city, and to Mr. Manley more than to any other is due the credit of its erection. He was reappointed in 1889. He was a director in the First National Bank, president of the Augusta Savings Bank, treasurer of the Augusta Water Company, director of the Kennebec Light and Heat Company, of the Edwards Manufacturing Company, of the Maine Central, Knox and Lincoln, Portland and Rochester railroads, of the Portland, Mount Desert and Machias Steamboat Company, of the Portland Publishing Company, of the State Publishing Association. He was a thirty-third degree Mason. In 1889-91 he represented Augusta in the legislature. In 1899-1901 he was also a member of that body and its speaker the last year. In 1903 he was a member of the state senate. As a factor in the political affairs of the state and nation Mr. Manley was widely known. For twenty years he was a member of the Republican state committee, and for sixteen years its chairman ; was a delegate to the Republican National conventions in 1880 and 1888; was a member of the executive committee of the National Republican committee in 1888-92-96-1900, and Its secretary in 1896 and 1900.³ Joseph Homan Manley married Susan Hannah Cony, daughter of Governor Samuel Cony and Mercy Hannah Sewall, on 4 October 1866 in Kennebec, Maine.^2,4 Joseph Homan Manley died on 7 November 1905 in Augusta, Maine, at the age of 63.⁵

     Joseph Sewall Manley was born on 21 June 1892.¹ He was the son of James Sewall Manley and Nellie Sellick.¹

     Lucy Cony Manley was born on 20 January 1869 in Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Homan Manley and Susan Hannah Cony.¹ Lucy Cony Manley married Charles Mellen on 7 June 1893.¹

     Samuel Cony Manley was born on 21 July 1867 in Augusta, Maine.^1,2 He was the son of Joseph Homan Manley and Susan Hannah Cony.¹ He was educated in the city schools, graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1885, and from Harvard College in 1889 with honorable mention in history. He was clerk, chief clerk to superintendent and train master with the Maine Central railroad from 1889 to 1899. He was president and general manager of the Maine Water Company, vice-president of the Sagadahock Light and Power Company, treasurer of the Kennebec Light and Heat Company, treasurer of the Maine Farmer Publishing Company, trustee of the Augusta Savings Bank, director of the First National Bank of Augusta, of the Edwards Manufacturing Company, of the Portland Publishing Company, of the State Publishing Association, treasurer of the Small Point Water Company, president of the trustees of the Cony Female Academy, member of the board of education of Augusta, member of the Republican city committee. He has been treasurer of the Augusta Water Company, director of the Williams school district, member of the superintending school committee, member of the Augusta park commission, member of the Augusta common council and board of aldermen, and president of both boards. He belonged to the Patrons of Husbandry ; Bethlehem Lodge, Cushnoc Chapter, Trinity Commandery ; Abnaki Club of Augusta ; Small Point Club of Phippsburg; Portland Country Club and the Cumberland Club of Portland ; to the New England and American Water Works and Maine Press associations; and to the Maine Genealogical Society.³ Samuel Cony Manley appears on the census of 22 April 1910 at Augusta, Maine, unmarried.⁴

     Sydney Sewall Manley was born on 4 August 1874 in Maine.^1,2 He was the son of Joseph Homan Manley and Susan Hannah Cony.¹ Sydney Sewall Manley married Duer Du Pont Breck on 28 December 1905 in Augusta, Maine.¹

     Warren Manley was born on 10 July 1885.¹ He was the son of James Sewall Manley and Nellie Sellick.¹ Warren Manley married Ernestine Lane Porter on 1 June 1910 in San Francisco, California.¹

     Warren Porter Manley was born on 13 July 1914.¹ He was the son of Warren Manley and Ernestine Lane Porter.¹ Warren Porter Manley died in August 1980 probably in San Francisco, California, at the age of 66.²
