He was the son of John Muncaster Sadler and Mary Humphreys.2 William Windham Sadler married Merelina Frederica Ann Ledsam, daughter of William Ledsam and Merelina Victoria Gordon, on 29 March 1897 in St. Mary's, Bryanston Square, London, the service was conducted by the Rev. Alfred Ledsam (cousin of the bride).2 William Windham Sadler died on 5 February 1909 in 4 Homely Bank, Kinnoull, Perth, Scotland, at the age of 42 of a syncope.2

Edward Elbridge Salisbury was born on 6 April 1814 in Boston, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Josiah Salisbury and Abby Breese.1 A descendant of John Salisbury of Boston, Mass., about 1689 and his second wife, Bridget Williams; also of Sidney Breese, who was in New York as early as 1733-34, and his wife, Elizabeth Penkethman.
He graduated from Yale, A.B., 1832, A.M., 1835; attended Yale Divinity School, 1832-35, and studied Oriental languages under Silvestre de Sacy, Garcin de Tassy and Franz Bopp, 1836-39.1 Edward Elbridge Salisbury married Abigail Salisbury Phillips, daughter of Edward Phillips and Mary Salisbury, on 27 April 1836 (they were cousins).1 Edward Elbridge Salisbury married Evelyn MacCurdy, daughter of Judge Charles Johnson McCurdy and Sarah Anne Lord, on 23 November 1871 or 1872.1,2 He was professor of Arabic and Sanskrit languages and literature at Yale, 1841-54, which chair had been created for him, and in 1854 he divided the chair with William Dwight Whitney, retaining the professorship of Arabic language and literature. He was corresponding secretary of the American Oriental Society and its president in 1863; was elected a member of the Asiatic Society of Paris in 1838; corresponding member of the Imperial Academy of Sciences and Belles Lettres at Constantinople in 1855, and of the German Oriental Society in 1859. The honorary degree of LL.D. was conferred on him by Yale in 1869, and by Harvard in 1886. He presented Yale with his unequalled Sanskrit library in 1870. He conducted the Journal of the American Oriental Society for several years, and contributed many articles. He is the author of: Account of the Diodati Family (printed privately, 1875); Principles of Domestic Taste, a lecture delivered before the Yale School of the Fine Arts (1877); Family Memorials (1885); and Family Histories and Genealogies (1892), the latter in collaboration with his wife, Evelyn MacCurdy Salisbury.1 Edward Elbridge Salisbury died on 5 February 1901 in New Haven, Connecticut, at the age of 86.1

Samuel Salisbury. Merchant.1 He was born on 10 August 1769 in Boston, Massachusetts, Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society, 5th series, gives 13 August.1,3 He was the son of Deacon Samuel S. Salisbury and Elizabeth Sewall.1,2 Samuel Salisbury married firstly Elizabeth Green on 1 April 1802 (date of the marriage intention).1 Samuel Salisbury married secondly Nancy Gardner on 18 July 1806 at Leominster, Massachusetts.4 Samuel Salisbury died on 24 January 1849 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 79 and is buried in King's Chapel.1,5
