     William Dunning Sewall was born on 14 April 1861 in Bath, Maine.² He was the son of Hon. Arthur Sewall and Emma Duncan Crooker.¹ William Dunning Sewall is also recorded as Willis D. Sewall in the 1870 census of Bath, Maine.³ He married Mary Loke Sumner, daughter of George Sumner and Sarah Richardson, on 9 June 1886 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.⁴ William Dunning Sewall died on 25 April 1930 in Boston Post Road, Kittery, Maine, at the age of 69, in an automobile accident. His sister-in-law, Mrs. Caroline Liscomb was injured.⁵ He was a member of the firm Arthur Sewall & Co., Shipbuilders Bath, Maine. After graduating from the Worcester, Massachusetts Polytechnical Institute in 1882 he went on to study at John Hopkins University. He then entered a mercantile office in San Francisco remaining there for three years. He then returned to Bath to become a member of the Sewall shipbuilding company. He became president of the Bath Savings Institution; director of the Fidelity Trust Company of Portland; director of the Sandy River and Rangely Lakes railroad.⁴

William Dunning Sewall married Mary Ann Kellins on 29 September 1826. William Dunning Sewall died on 18 August 1839 in Chesterville, Maine, at the age of 35.¹

     William G. Sewall was born circa 1838 in Maine.¹ He was the son of Samuel Moody Sewall and Mary A. Ordway.¹ William G. Sewall appears on the census of 1860 at Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, listed as a turner of wood.¹

      An insurance dealer of New York.² William Gibbs Sewall was born on 22 January 1856.¹ He was the son of Dr. John Gallison Sewall and Joanna White Gannett.¹ William Gibbs Sewall appears on the census of 1900 at 77th Street, New York, living with his mother and sister.³ He died on 30 May 1916 in Manhattan, New York, at the age of 60.^2,4

     William Gilman Sewall was born on 11 March 1874 at 26 Brimmer, Boston, Massachusetts.³ He was the son of William Bull Sewall and Lena I. Ingalls.¹ William Gilman Sewall married Angela de Acosta, daughter of Ricardo de Acosta, on 15 November 1910 in 1037 Madison Avenue, New York.⁴ In 1919 he was in British East Africa at the time of his brother's death.² William Gilman Sewall and Angela de Acosta were divorced in October 1922 at Paris, France.⁵ William Gilman Sewall died on 14 July 1941 in the Post Graduate Hospital, New York City, at the age of 67 of a cerebral haemorrhage. The announcement in The Times describes him as being of Boston, Massachusetts and Njoro, Kenya. The New York Times gives a fuller picture and describes him as a big game hunter who owned 40,000 acres of rubber and wheat plantations in Kenya. Several of his game trophies adorn the Harvard Club in New York. In the first world war he served as a captain in the British Army and was on the staff of General Smith-Dorrien in the expedition to Kenya.^6,7

     William Hanson Sewall was born on 22 April 1854.¹ He was the son of Rev. Rufus King Sewall and Anne Elizabeth Whitehurst.¹ William Hanson Sewall died on 31 January 1855.¹

     William Harmon Sewall was born on 22 February 1821 in York, Maine.¹ He was the son of Joseph Sewall and Abigail H. Gray.¹ William Harmon Sewall married Lydia Jane Moore, daughter of Oliver Moore, on 11 November 1847.² William Harmon Sewall died on 4 July 1864 in York, Maine, at the age of 43.¹

     William J. Sewall was born in April 1846 probably in Maine.² He was the son of Rev. William Stinson Sewall and Miriam Purington.¹ William J. Sewall married Mary (Unknown) circa 1873.² William J. Sewall and Mary (Unknown) appear on the census of 1900 at Keene, New Hampshire, he is a tinsmith.²

     William Jesse Sewall. Publisher of the Carthage Daily Press.² He was born on 2 June 1866 in Virden, Illinois.¹ He was the son of William Winter Sewall and Susan E. Cox.¹ William Jesse Sewall married firstly Gertrude K. Miller on 21 July 1885 this marriage is not noted in his obituary notice in the Kansas City Times.³ William Jesse Sewall married secondly Mary Taggart, daughter of Rev. Samuel B. Taggart, on 6 September 1893 in Illinois.^1,4 William Jesse Sewall died on 18 February 1957 in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 90.⁵ He was buried in Park Cemetery, Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri.⁶

     William Ladd Sewall was born on 11 November 1849 in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Samuel G. Sewall and Sarah C. Otis.¹ William Ladd Sewall died on 27 March 1855 in Woburn, Massachusetts, at the age of 5.²

      Farmer of Sumner, Oxford, Maine.² William Ripley Sewall was born on 22 June 1833 (Sinnett says 22 January 1835).^1,3 He was the son of John Milton Sewall and Dorcas Cushman.¹ William Ripley Sewall married Mary Jane Fairchild on 28 May 1867 in Guildhall, Vermont, the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. James Laird.⁴ William Ripley Sewall died on 7 March 1897 at the age of 63.¹

     Rev. William Stinson Sewall was born on 19 June 1807 in Bath, Maine.^1,2,3 He was the son of Rev. Henry Sewall and Esther Minot Moody.¹ Rev. William Stinson Sewall graduated in 1834 from Bowdoin. He was ordained in September 1839 at the Congregational Church, Brownville. He married Miriam Purington, daughter of James Purington, on 3 June 1840 in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine.^4,5 Rev. William Stinson Sewall appears on the census of 1860 at Brownville, Piscataquis, Maine, together with his wife and children.⁴ He died on 27 September 1884 in St. Albans, Maine, at the age of 77.⁶

     William Sylvester Sewall. Manufacturer and dealer in lumber.² He was born on 5 June 1824 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine.³ He was the son of Deacon Oliver Sewall and Betsey Sylvester.¹ William Sylvester Sewall married Augusta P. Allen on 14 January 1858.¹ William Sylvester Sewall and Augusta P. Allen appear on the census of 1860 at Farmington, Franklin County, Maine, with their chld, Cora and Abby A. Allen, a teacher, presumably sister of Augusta. William is listed as William D. Sewall a planing millman.⁴ William Sylvester Sewall died on 10 July 1909 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine, at the age of 85.⁵ He was buried in Webster Cemetery, Farmington, Maine.⁵

     William Wingate Sewall was born on 13 April 1845 in Island Falls, Maine.^2,3 He was the son of Levi Sewall and Rebecca Alexander.² The first white child born in that town. He attended the public schools and largely through private study became well educated. He was foreman for Roosevelt's Elk Horn Ranch in North Dakota for two and a half year, 1883-86. In the autumn of 1886 he returned to Island Falls, where he cultivated his farm. He had several camps for hunters on his place. In politics he was a Progressive, formerly a Republican. He was an assessor in Island Falls for several years and for four years was collector of customs for the district of Aroostook under President Roosevelt and President Taft. In religion he was a Congregationalist.² William Wingate Sewall married Mary Alice Sherman, daughter of Caleb Sherman and Mary Jane Blakeny, on 1 January 1883.³

     William Wingate Sewall was born on 31 March 1918 in Island Falls, Maine.¹ He was the son of Fred Stinson Sewall and Phyllis G. Garverich.¹ William Wingate Sewall died on 15 October 2007 in Mount Heights Nursing Home, Maine, at the age of 89.¹ He served in the Army Artillery as a high-speed radio operator. He farmed with his father and cut hardwood logs until 1962, when he went to work for Maine Public Service Co. He retired from Maine Public in 1980. For many years Bill was a deputy sheriff for Aroostook and Penobscot County sheriff's departments. He was an accomplished cabinetmaker and made many fine pieces of furniture for his relatives and friends. Bill was a victim of Parkinson's disease and spent the last few years of his life at Mount Heights Rest Home, Patten.¹

     William Winter Sewall was born on 11 February 1832 in Jacksonville, Illinois.¹ He was the son of William Sewall and Elizabeth Ward Middleton.¹ William Winter Sewall married Susan E. Cox on 4 December 1858 in Virden, Illinois, Sewall gives 9 December.^1,2 William Winter Sewall and Susan E. Cox appear on the census of 1880 at Virden, Macoupin, Illinois, together with their children, where he is described as the proprietor of a flour mill.³ William Winter Sewall died on 23 September 1897 in Carthage, Montana, at the age of 65 (or 29 October 1887 - Sinnett).^1,4

     William Wirt Sewall was born on 20 May 1834 in Somerset Twp., Strafford County, New Hampshire.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Chapman Sewall and Paulina Fairfield Wentworth.¹

     William/Billy Sewall was born on 31 December 1786 in Hallowell, Maine.^1,2 He was the son of General Henry Sewall and Tabitha Sewall.¹ William/Billy Sewall died on 18 June 1787 in Hallowell of canker rash (scarlet fever). The Augusta Vital Records also record a birth and death on the same dates for an Ezekiel Sewall.^1,2

     Willis Sewall was born circa 1866.² He was the son of Eugene Dana Sewall and Augusta Elizabeth Hutchins.¹

     Willis Fuller Sewall was born on 8 August 1866 or 12 August 1866 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine.^2,3 He was the son of Howard Sewall and Florilla Fuller.¹ "Willis F. Sewall received his early education in the town schools of his birth-place and at Wilton Academy, Wilton, Maine, and Westbrook Seminary, Deering, Maine, graduating from the former in 1883 and from the latter in 1886. These institutions were preparatory schools, and after completing his studies therein Mr. Sewall attended Tufts College at Medford, Mass., from which he graduated in 1890, with a degree of Bachelor of Arts. He held the preparatory school prize scholarship for high rank throughout his college course. He was editor-in-chief of the Class Annual in his junior year at Tufts College, by choice of the faculty. He was instructor in French and English composition and assistant Librarian at Tufts College during the two years following his graduation, and he entered the Albany (N.Y.) Library School, in the fall of 1892.
He served as indexer to the New York State Commission in Lunacy, in 1893-4; was cataloguer of the Sauppe Collection of Classical Philology in the Bryn Mawr College Library, in 1894-5, and librarian of the Wilmington (Del.) Institute Free Library, from 1895 to 1899, when he returned to Maine in poor health. In the winter of 1902-03, he served as cataloguer at the Grolier Club Library in New York City, from the last named place he came to Toledo, Sept. 1, 1903, and in the position of librarian of the Toledo Public Library he has rendered efficient service and performed the duties thereof in a manner entirely satisfactory to all. In politics, Mr. Sewall gives allegiance to the men and measures of the Republican party." Willis Fuller Sewall married firstly Kate Louise Howe, daughter of R.L. Howe and Sarah Chatterson, on 30 October 1894.¹

Willis Fuller Sewall married secondly Dora N[athalie] Billings on 27 May 1926 in Bowdoinham, Maine.⁴ Willis Fuller Sewall and Dora N[athalie] Billings appear on the census of 1930 at Bowdoinham, Sagadahoc, Maine, fruit farming.⁵ Willis Fuller Sewall died in April 1941. The funeral of Willis Fuller Sewall took place on 23 April 1941 at Pond Road, Bowdoinham, The Rev. George Cardigan, Rector of the Episcopal Church of Brunswick, officiated. Following the service the body was taken to Livermore Falls where an American Legion service was held. Burial was in the Sewall Cemetery at Livermore Falls.⁶

     Wilmot Sewall was born on 23 March 1840 in Farmington, Maine.² He was the son of Levi Sewall and Rebecca Alexander.¹ Wilmot Sewall died on 6 May 1841 in Maine at the age of 1.²

     Winifred Hoyt Sewall was born on 2 September 1893 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.^3,1 She was the daughter of Edmund Devereux Sewall and Ida Maria Hoyt.² Winifred Hoyt Sewall died on 12 November 1988 in San Diego, California, at the age of 95.⁴

     Woodrow W. Sewall was born on 27 January 1918 in Little Deer Isle.¹ He was the son of Charles W. Sewall and Frances S. Scott.¹ Woodrow W. Sewall married Gloria Jacques.¹ On 19 January 1941 he in the army. Woodrow W. Sewall died on 24 May 2004 in Bangor, Maine, at the age of 86.¹ He was buried on 27 May 2004 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer, Maine.¹
