     Mary Sewall was the daughter of Nicholas Lewis Sewall and Mary Darnall.¹ Mary Sewall died on 12 January 1791.¹

     Mary Sewall was born on 23 October 1799 in Augusta, Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of General Henry Sewall and Tabitha Sewall.¹ Mary Sewall was baptised on 3 November 1799 at Hallowell.¹ Mary suffered from a purported mental illness, her "derangement " took the form of running away to join the Shakers at New Gloucester, Maine. Her father and the attending physician, Issachar Snell, responded by confining her in a special chair and later in a bunk "with a lid to shut down", reducing her food, and drawing blood to alleviate her nervous excitement. She died six months later, after expressing her love to all her family and begging their forgiveness.¹ She died on 15 March 1825 in Augusta at the age of 25.^1,2

     Mary Sewall was born on 7 March 1791 in Georgetown.¹ She was the daughter of James Sewall and Margaret Pattee.¹

     Mary Sewall was born before 1797.¹ She was the daughter of Clement Sewall and Eleanor Carberry.¹ Mary Sewall died after 1822.¹

Charles Chauncy Sewall and Amy Peters.¹ Mary Abigail Sewall appears on the census of 1880 at Medfield, Massachusetts, listed as a store keeper. Unmarried and living with her father and two sisters and a brother.³ She died on 27 August 1892 in Medfield, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, at the age of 62.

     Mary Abigail Sewall was born on 6 October 1825 in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Charles Chauncy Sewall and Amy Peters.¹ Mary Abigail Sewall was baptised on 6 November 1825 at Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, by Rev. Mr. White.¹ She died on 27 September 1829 in Danvers, Essex County, Massachusetts, at the age of 3.¹

     Mary Alice Sewall was born on 22 August 1909 in Marlin, Texas.^2,3 She was the daughter of Dr. Francis Bates Sewall and Mary Lee Goodrich.¹ Mary Alice Sewall died on 17 February 1951 at 202 Leming, Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 41.⁴ She was buried on 18 February 1951 in Seaside Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, Texas.⁴

     Mary Anna Sewall was born on 3 June 1858 in Island Falls, Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of Samuel Trask Sewell and Nancy Clements Brown.¹ Mary Anna Sewall died on 3 October 1862 at the age of 4 (20 October 1862 - Sinnett).^1,2

     Mary B. Sewall was born circa 10 September 1861 in Barry, Pike County, Illinois. She was the daughter of John Jenks Sewall and Lois Anne Littebrant. Mary B. Sewall died on 9 March 1863. She was buried in Barry Cemetery, Fairmount Township, Pike County, Illinois.¹

     Mary Braley Sewall was born on 2 June 1913 in Old Town, Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of James Wingate Sewall Jr. and Louise Belinda Gray.¹ Mary Braley Sewall died on 22 December 2004 in New Harbor, Maine, at the age of 91

NEW HARBOR - After a long and happy life, Mary Braley Sewall Alden died Dec. 22, 2004 at her home in New Harbor.

She was born in Old Town on June 2, 1913, the daughter of James Wingate Sewall and Louise Belinda Gray Sewall.

She graduated from Old Town High School and spent two years at the University of Maine in Orono before finishing her formal education at Radcliffe College in Cambridge, Mass.

She married Richard Carter Alden of Rumford in 1935. Together they were the parents of three daughters, Susannah A. French of Round Pond, Margaret A. Pfeffer Forbes of New Mexico and Christiana A. Stevens Poole of Newcastle. They had nine grandchildren, Charles, Amy-Louise Richard and Elizabeth Pfeffer, Kirsten, Alexander and Samuel Stevens, Jennifer A. Parlin and Aaron French, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren and great-grand-children, she is survived by sisters, Margaret Page of Caribou, and Elizabeth Gary of Buzzard's Bay, Mass., and her brother Joseph Sewall of Castine.

Two brothers predeceased her, Daniel Stark Sewall who died in infancy, and George Tingey Sewall of New York City and South Lee, Mass.

The Aldens lived in Michigan and New York State for several years as well as in Maine. In Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Alden was active in many organizations serving on the boards of the League of Women Voters of

Monroe County and of New York State, the Women's Educational and Industrial Union and the YWCA. She was director of Girls' Work at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a member of the Altar Guild. Later the Aldens moved to Groveland in the Genesee Valley where she helped her husband manage Belwood a farm where they raised prize Angus cattle.

After Mr. Alden's retirement, the couple moved to Bristol where they both became active in community affairs. Mrs. Alden was a member and former president of the Fortnightly Club of Round Pond, the Willing Worker's of New Harbor, the Lincoln County Union of Women's Clubs and a Life Member of the Corporation of the Lincoln Home. She served six years on the Bristol School Committee and the board of School Union 74. She was active in the Republican Party.

Mrs. Alden was very interested in the social and political history of Maine. Her ancestors came to Maine in the 1600s and dispersed widely throughout the state.

At Mrs. Alden's request there will be no funeral services.

     Mary Brent Sewall was born in September 1808.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. Robert Sewall and Mary (Polly) Brent.¹ Mary Brent Sewall married Philip Barton Key Jr. on 1 December 1828.² Mary Brent Sewall died on 1 January 1831 in Poplar Hill, Prince George's County, Maryland, at the age of 22 s.p. The notice in the Daily National Intelligencer states that she died at the home of her brother Robert D. Sewall.^1,3 She was buried in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Clinton, Prince George's County, Maryland.⁴

     Mary Burnham Sewall was born on 2 September 1884 in Westminster, Vermont.^2,3 She was the daughter of Rev. John Ladd Sewall and Catherine Mussey Hartwell. Mary Burnham Sewall married Harry Spurr Whitbeck, son of George Sterling Whitbeck and Hattie A. Spurr, on 2 July 1913 in Worcester, Massachusetts.¹

     Mary C. Sewall was born circa 1845.¹ She was the daughter of David Sewall and Louisa Augusta Stephens.¹

     Mary C. Sewall was born on 31 March 1915 in Maine.^2,3 She was the daughter of Fred Stinson Sewall and Phyllis G. Garverich.² Mary C. Sewall died on 28 February 2008 probably in Island Falls, Maine, at the age of 92.³

     Mary Chapman Sewall was born on 16 April 1827.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Jotham Sewall and Rachel Crosby Bradbury.¹ Mary Chapman Sewall died on 15 August 1848 at the age of 21.²

     Mary Crosby Sewall was born in 1875 in Illinois.^2,1 She was the daughter of Joseph Addison Sewall and Ann Edwards Foss.² Mary Crosby Sewall died in 1897.¹

     Mary Dunning Sewall was born on 23 June 1805.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Sewall and Lydia Marsh.²

     Mary E. Sewall was born in December 1892 in Texas.² She was the daughter of Francis Lewis Sewall and Janie Gillispie Thompson. Mary E. Sewall married August H. McCallum.¹

     Mary Eliza Sewall was born on 25 September 1843 in York, Maine.¹ She was the daughter of Capt. Joseph Sewall and Eliza Jane Trafton.¹ Mary Eliza Sewall married Jeremiah Goodwin Freeman, son of Edward Freeman, on 5 April 1866 in York, Maine, and to this date, (March 20, 1875) have no issue.² Mary Eliza Sewall died on 23 May 1886 at the age of 42.³

     Mary Elizabeth Sewall was born on 10 February 1862 in Virden, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of William Winter Sewall and Susan E. Cox.¹ Mary Elizabeth Sewall graduated on 8 June 1882 from Blackburn University Ph.B.¹ She married Hugh McKim DuBois, son of Alexander McKinn DuBois, on 24 March 1887 and settled in Wichita, Kansas.¹

     Mary Ella Sewall was born on 24 July 1852.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Sewall and Mary T. Dunbar.¹ Mary Ella Sewall died on 10 June 1853.¹
