     Henry Carre B.A. was born on 25 October 1833 probably in Killelaugh, County Derry, Ireland.¹ He was the son of Rev. Henry Carre. Henry Carre B.A. married Louisa de Quincy Lundy, daughter of Rev. Dr. Francis James Lundy D.C.L. and Henrietta Eliza Sewell, on 9 August 1866 in St John's Church, Sterling, Ontario, the service was conducted by the Rev. G.W.G. Grout.² He was a civil engineer and land surveyor who worked on the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Henry Carre B.A. and Louisa de Quincy Lundy appear in the 1881 census at Carleton Place, Lanark South, Ontario.³ Henry Carre B.A. died on 11 July 1918 in Belleville, Ontario, at the age of 84.¹

     Lundy Carre was born on 18 May 1886.¹ He was the son of Henry Carre B.A. and Louisa de Quincy Lundy.¹

     Mary Carrell was the daughter of Margaret Tufton.¹

     Margaret (or Marjorie) Carrick, Countess of Carrick was the daughter of Neil 2nd Earl of Carrick, and Margaret Stewart.² Margaret (or Marjorie) Carrick, Countess of Carrick married, as her second husband Robert le Brus, Earl of Carrick, son of Sir Robert le Brus, Lord of Anandale and Christina de Ireby, in 1271 at Turnberry, Ayrshire, Scotland.² Margaret (or Marjorie) Carrick, Countess of Carrick died before 9 November 1292.¹

     Neil 2nd Earl of Carrick, married Margaret Stewart,, daughter of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland.¹ Neil 2nd Earl of Carrick, died in 1256?¹

     Margaret A. Carrigan married George Phillips Cooper, son of William Phillips Cooper and Elizabeth Ballard, on 29 October 1857.¹

     Anita Carroll was the daughter of Governor John Lee Carroll and Anita Phelps.¹

     Ann Carroll was born in 1733.¹ She was the daughter of Daniel Carroll I of Upper Marlboro and Eleanor Darnall.¹ Ann Carroll married Robert Brent of Woodstock.¹ Ann Carroll died in 1804.¹

     Ann Brooke "Nancy" Carroll was born on 23 November 1776.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton and Mary "Molly" Darnall.¹ Ann Brooke "Nancy" Carroll died on 7 September 1777.¹

     Catherine "Kitty" Carroll was born on 18 December 1778.^1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton and Mary "Molly" Darnall.¹

     Charles Carroll married Mary Digges Lee.¹ Charles Carroll was born in 1801.¹ He was the son of Charles Carroll of Homewood and Harriett Chew.¹ Charles Carroll died in 1862.¹

     Charles Carroll was born in 1865.¹ He was the son of Governor John Lee Carroll and Anita Phelps.¹

     Charles Carroll of Annapolis. Attorney-General of Maryland.⁴ Charles Carroll of Annapolis was living in Dooghoregan Manor, Howard County, Maryland.⁴ He was born on 2 April 1702 in Annapolis, Maryland.¹ He was the son of Charles Carroll the Settler and Mary Darnall.^2,3 Charles Carroll of Annapolis married Elizabeth Brooke, daughter of Clement Brooke and Jane Sewall, on 15 February 1757 having signed their marriage settlement 7 November 1756.^5,6 Charles Carroll of Annapolis died on 30 May 1782 in Annapolis, Maryland, at the age of 80 from injuries sustained in a fall. Though he ordered that upon his death no inventory of his estate should be taken the 1783 tax assessment of his holdings included personal property of 434 slaves and 362 ounces of plate worth £12,864 and nearly 30,000 acres of land.³

     Charles Carroll of Belle Vue was born in 1767.¹ He was the son of Charles Carroll of Duddington and Mary Hill.¹ Charles Carroll of Belle Vue died in 1823.¹

     Charles Carroll of Carrollton was born illegitimate on 19 September 1737 at Annapolis, Maryland, and remained so until his parents' marriage in 1757.³ He was the son of Charles Carroll of Annapolis and Elizabeth Brooke.¹ Carroll was the only Roman Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence. He added "of Carrollton" to his signature to separate himself from the other Charleses in his sprawling family – including his father, Charles Carroll of Annapolis. Charles was diminutive in stature, he was graceful in his movements and an accomplished horseman and he had fine, regular features. Charles was often described as the richest man in the country.

Educated in his early years by Jesuits, he spent many years in school in Europe and having studied law in Paris and London he was an unusually cultivated young man. After his marriage he lived the life of a landed gentlemen on Carrollton Manor, a ten thousand acre plantation in Frederick County, Maryland which he had received from his father. Not until he was thirty-six in 1773, did he become a public man. He was instrumental in asking Canada to help America in the Revolutionary War. He was elected to Maryland's first state senate in 1777. From 1776 to 1778 he was a member of the Continental Congress, where he signed the Declaration of Independence. He was a U.S. Senator from Maryland between 1789 and 1792. He retired from politics in 1800 but lived until 1832, being the last surviving Signer when he died at the age of ninety-four. Four years before his death, he officially opened the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad thus becoming the only Signer who ever saw a steam locomotive. Still regarded as the richest man in the country, he had long been a legendary figure.⁴

Charles Carroll of Carrollton married Mary "Molly" Darnall, daughter of Henry Darnall IV and Rachel Brooke, on 5 June 1768 in Annapolis, Maryland, they were cousins.^5,6 Charles Carroll of Carrollton died on 14 November 1832 in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 95. He is buried at Doughoregan Manor, near Ellicott City.^1,7

     Charles Carroll of Duddington was born on 12 September 1729.³ He was the son of Daniel Carroll of Duddington Manor and Anne Rozer.² Charles Carroll of Duddington married Mary Hill, daughter of Henry Hill.⁴ Charles Carroll of Duddington died before 1772.⁵

     Charles Carroll of Homewood was born on 2 March 1775.^3,1 He was the son of Charles Carroll of Carrollton and Mary "Molly" Darnall.² Charles Carroll of Homewood married Harriett Chew, daughter of Chief Justice Benjamin Chew, on 17 July 1800.¹ Charles Carroll of Homewood died on 3 April 1825 at the age of 50.¹

     Charles Carroll the Settler was born in 1661 probably in County Offaly, Ireland.^3,4 He was the son of Daniel Carroll of Litterluna.² Charles Carroll the Settler married firstly Martha Underwood on 4 November 1689.² Charles Carroll the Settler married secondly Mary Darnall, daughter of Col. Henry Darnall I of Portland Manor and Elinor Hatton, on 15 February 1693 They had ten children.^2,5 Charles Carroll the Settler died on 1 July 1720 in Maryland.³

     Daniel Carroll I of Upper Marlboro was born in 1696.² He married Eleanor Darnall, daughter of Henry Darnall II and Ann Digges.² Daniel Carroll I of Upper Marlboro died in 1751.²

     Daniel Carroll II of Rock Creek was born in 1730.² He was the son of Daniel Carroll I of Upper Marlboro and Eleanor Darnall.^1,2 Daniel Carroll II of Rock Creek married Eleanor Carroll, daughter of Daniel Carroll of Duddington Manor and Anne Rozer.^3,2 Daniel Carroll II of Rock Creek died in 1796.²

     Daniel Carroll III was born in 1752.¹ He was the son of Daniel Carroll II of Rock Creek and Eleanor Carroll.¹ Daniel Carroll III married Elizabeth Digges, daughter of William Digges of Warburton and Anne Attwood.¹ Daniel Carroll III died in 1790.¹

     Daniel Carroll of Duddington was born in 1764.² He was the son of Charles Carroll of Duddington and Mary Hill.¹ Daniel Carroll of Duddington died in 1849.³

     Daniel Carroll of Duddington Manor was born on 3 October 1707.³ He was the son of Charles Carroll the Settler and Mary Darnall.² Daniel Carroll of Duddington Manor married Anne Rozer, daughter of Notley Rozer and Jane Digges, in 1727.⁴ Daniel Carroll of Duddington Manor died on 15 April 1734 at the age of 26.³

      Dominick Carroll was living in Cecil County.¹ He married Mary Sewall, daughter of Major Nicholas Sewall and Susanna Burgess, on 3 September 1725.¹

     Eleanor Carroll was born in 1731.² She was the daughter of Daniel Carroll of Duddington Manor and Anne Rozer.¹ Eleanor Carroll married Daniel Carroll II of Rock Creek, son of Daniel Carroll I of Upper Marlboro and Eleanor Darnall.^3,2 Eleanor Carroll died in 1763.²

     Elizabeth Carroll was born on 3 April 1769 in Annapolis, Maryland.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton and Mary "Molly" Darnall.¹
